FLETCHER JOWERS,
BOBBY BOATRIGHT
and The Legendary
TOMMY ALLSUP

Years ago when I first met Tommy Allsup, it took me about five seconds to realize this was a good guy that I really liked a lot. At that time, I had no idea of his tremendous accomplishments in music. I just knew he was a gentle giant of a good man. He has touched the lives of millions upon millions of folks throughout the world with his musical genius. What a mark to make when you have not only been a member of the legendary Buddy Holly Crickets but also a Bob Wills Texas Playboy, produced thousands of projects for artists like Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, Hank Thompson, Mickey Gilley, Gene Watson, Leon Rausch, George Jones, Lorrie Morgan, Ron Gaddis, Joe Carson, Clay Hart, Tex Williams, Asleep At The Wheel and on and on.

Tommy, Buck Ramsey and I were out at the Cowboy Christmas Ball in Anson, Texas about ten years ago. We talked about doing a gospel project, primarily of old hymns. Had Buck lived, that idea would have gone forward. It seems to me that simply divine intervention gave us these lyrics and at the same time gave Tommy the ear to interpret and produce this project like no other could have done. Tommy, you are absolutely awesome.
